お食い初め； "Okuizome"

お宮参りの後、実家でお食い初めもしました。　細かい形式にはこだわらず、鹿肉なんかをソテ～して楽しみました。　お寿司は親指第一関節サイズで～す。可愛いでしょ？　We had "Okuizome ceremony" at my parents' house(brother's). This ceremony is to pray for the good of having enough food to live on as making baby to pretend to eat on the day 100th. It was fun to prepare the small dish. Top left on the plate are petit sushi and top right is "Soup de Jour" and the main dish is Venison Saute with festive red rice. I bet that only the SKs serves Venison for this kind of event in Japan.

お宮参り＆１００日の写真を撮りに行ったところ、ビックリしたのはその金額・・・８万７千円也！ちょっと枚数選びすぎかしら？？？　We went to a photo shoot for this Uribo's first event. I was thinking it is good thing to take family photo by professional photographer once in a while. However, the price amazed us in no time. The first price estimate was almost $800 ONLY!!! OMG! Obviously we chose a much smaller photo package. We still might have ordered too much... oh well, we'll get over it. Welcome to Japan, SK-1 & SK-3!
